June's Roses

I love doing small watercolours ... and now that my first bloom of roses has faded ~ I will wait patiently for a second flush in a few weeks. In the meantime, I have this small watercolour to remind me of the quiet peace of a quick sketch and a beautiful pitcher full from the garden. Maybe a small quilt in the future ...

What a great little watercolor. I love your watercolors. You have a wonderful touch with them.

And this would be a pretty quilt!

This little water colour is just gorgeous - the colours are just as sweet as the roses. What is the name of these ones? I have been doing heaps of pruning over the last week or so and we have just bought another 20 roses and they are already in. One is a new rose called "Ashram" an old gold colour - can't wait to see it in bloom.

Hi, Thank you for all your comments! I am happy to hear from you all! Watercolours are one of those things that I pick up fairly frequently but have more success when they are a bit more spontaneous. I need to set up my oil paints but watercolours I can sometimes just wing it!.
Have a great week,
Barbara

Hello Barbara,

this is quite sweet in its simplicity and few colors. Such a wonderful idea to make it into a quilt, if you do, I hope you share it with us! Wishing you a lovely week.
