Lilies 2 ~ finished

Happy Monday

Lilies 2 is complete, and I am very happy that it is ~ I was much more deliberate in my stitching path with Lilies 2 ... making a choice every time I turned a corner or stitched a curve. Choosing the thread to darken or lighten a shape. Slowing down made it easier and harder all at the same time ... I very much enjoyed the detail.

Here are a few photograghs for a more up close view

Lilies 2 is watercolour on muslin, wool rovings, and hand stitch with varigated 12 weight thread.

This is so soft and pretty. I love the way you have used the variegations in the thread.

How wonderful to hear about your new approach to your stitching. Sounds like a practice of presence and honoring the spirit of the piece. It really is lovely Barbara~

I love the color and texture of your hand stitched florals. Two hand surgeries have put an end to my hand quilting, but I can appreciate your dedication.

Barbara your detailed handstitching with little scrolls here and there is just so beautiful as is the softness that flows through this whole beautiful piece. Your soft painted shades come so naturally to you. Beautiful!!!
