Lilies 1 of 2

and some detail work below

I showed this as a work in progress a while ago ... so here it is finished (with some details) and the second piece of "Lilies" is well underway. I have been reading about everyone working in their gardens, collecting, and harvesting. It has been the same here ... I love this time of year and find it so hard to come inside.
This is watercolour on muslin, with wool rovings and hand stitch

This is so beautiful! I love how all that hand stitching adds so much expression to the piece. Wonderful work!

Yes, fall is making itself known around here too. I usually love fall, but we didn't get quite enough summer this year, so I'm not ready for fall. But it's coming anyway, so hopefully soon I can get in the mood to enjoy it!

your work is lovely, should be a good day here in Ontario to put in a few stitching hours. (for anyone else, it is pelting with rain)

The colors are beautiful and your stitching is fantastic. It truly draws me into the piece. When I come to your blog I always get drawn back to look at your older posts. I love the Passing Storm as it reminds me of a sailing trip I was on and got caught in storm quite like your work. May I ask is it mounted on a stretched canvas? I could not tell from the photo. I just love it.

I wrote a message but somehow if flew off into space and never arrived here.
I commented that you must have a huge amount of patience to do so many tiny stitches. Lovely work. You really favour those gorgeous colours.
