Details ~ (and pardon my basting stitches)
OK ~ I think I am back, this is a piece I have started in the last week or so, inspired by lilies in the garden. This is the first of two ... also watercolour on muslin, wool rovings and hand-stitch. I have discovered for myself that hand-stitiching is so very calming, methodical and quiet. I love my machine but find that I have to walk away after awhile as the sound can become too much.
I hope to do a good mix of both over the next few months ...
Will post the finished piece when it is done!

Barbara - This is going to give a beautiful result with all the softness coming from you onto the cloth! Lovely gentle colours!

I love the colors and seeing the details is quite wonderful. I love the swirls and even seeing the basting.
I just bought a sewing machine at a garage sale. I need to start it up and see if it works. Maybe it will inspire me to do something different... I have not sewn for years.
You could listen to soothing music on an ipod while you are using the sewing machine, then you wouldn't hear the noise it makes.
